It’s been a long time coming, but the rebrand is finally complete.
I’m excited to present to you: Fantasy and Fellowship, a publication for fantasy readers and writers.
This is a departure from what Your Path to Publication has been up until now, but I cannot ignore the fact that I would much rather be writing stories than sharing nonfiction pieces about writing. So that’s what I plan to do.
What to Expect from Fantasy and Fellowship
My goal with Fantasy and Fellowship is simple: To share quality fantasy stories and build a supportive community of fantasy readers and writers.
Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:
Microfantasies: Compact and satisfying 100-word fantasy stories.
Fantasy Shorts: Standalone short stories too long to be considered micros.
Fantasy Serials: Epic, long-form fantasy fiction published on a weekly basis.
Writer’s Notes: Reflective companion pieces for each of my stories and chapters.
As for my publishing schedule, you can expect new stories every Friday with additional reflective pieces or microfantasies sprinkled in throughout the week. Over time, I plan to publish both short-form and long-form fiction in this space, including serial fiction and chapters of my novels in progress. Please be patient with me as I get adjusted to this new publishing cadence.
The biggest change: All stories will be free to read for 60 days after their publication. After that time has passed, they will be banished behind the paywall. You can upgrade to a paid subscription for unlimited access to the archives.
This is a decision that has been difficult to come to terms with, but at the end of the day, writers deserve to get paid for their work. I’m no exception. I hope you’ll consider supporting me financially with a paid subscription.
Of course, I’ll make it worth your while in other ways, including access to exclusive content and writing hours. More information on that can be found on the new membership page.
But What Happened to Your Path to Publication?
If you enjoyed the weekly newsletter, Your Path to Publication, it very much still exists and can be found here. 👇
I’ve added most of my existing subscribers to the YP2P mailing list already, but if you haven’t been added (or your settings don’t allow me to add you), go ahead and subscribe if you’re still interested in receiving it. YP2P will also have a paywall for posts older than 30 days for the reasons outlined above. Again, I hope you will consider becoming a paid member.
You can, of course, unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive Your Path to Publication (but I hope you’ll at least stick around for Fantasy and Fellowship).
Anyway, I know that’s a lot to take in, but this is a decision that I believe is for the best. With two distinct newsletters, I can more appropriately segment my audience and ensure both receive the best, most relevant content to their specific interests.
I’m excited to take both publications in this new direction, and I hope you are excited to join me on this adventure!
Cheers,
Josh
This initiative is a labor of love for the fantasy genre, and I hope you're as excited about it as I am.
What kind of fantasy do you read? I'd love it if you could share your favorite authors.
